"I'm Late" The mad March hare

"I'm Late" Watercolour done on acid free paper 140lbs not.

This hare was traveling so fast across a field near the river Stour, I couldn't even get a picture in. In the end I did a two inch sketch from memory on a scrap of paper.
After getting back to my shed, I did a loose drawing on watercolour paper and then literally threw the paint on with a two inch brush. The whole thing took me fifteen minutes, but I feel it captured the energy, colour and speed of this lovely animal.
I so enjoyed the process that I have promised myself to paint like this more often...by the seat of my pants.
A big thank you to Mr Hare and his important date. I wonder who it was...it could have been Alice!

The materials I used were: Daniel Smith watercolour paint. Colours use: Cadmium Yellow. Cadmium Red. Raw Sienna. And a hint of Alizarin Crimson.

Much love

Chris x
